A New Twist on Date Night

date night, fun, painting with a twist, parenting July 22, 2017

This post is sponsored by Painting with a Twist, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

I love date night and hate it at the same time. I want adventure, so dinner and a movie just doesn’t cut it for me all the time. If I’m going on a date I want to spend time talking, laughing and having a good time. I want to create memories that will last the months of waiting for our next date night. Because let’s be honest, date nights don’t come as often as we want them too.

This last week was our once in a blue moon date night. We turned our date night into a fun and memorable night with two of our closest friends. The Husbands brother and his wife (who just so happens to be my best friend).

We decided to spend it at a place called Painting with a Twist. Painting with a twist is a magical place. Where someone with the least talent at being creative has a life line to be extremely talented. This is how it works.

We walked in and were welcomed by two of the friendliest people. One who will be teaching the class and another who will help assist you on the floor if needed.

You have the choice of picking your own painting or choosing one that is already chosen by another. After you’re greeted and have your spot. You now get to play dress up and pick your apron. We wouldn’t want our clothes to get dirty now, would we?

After everyone in the class shows up we start. Now this isn’t a ‘sit still, don’t talk, or move’ type of class. We talked, enjoyed meeting new people and had a blast getting artsy.

They even gave us a break from painting and we played a fun game. I can’t tell you how much we laughed. But I would have to say that sitting next to my husband as we drew the same thing and seeing the different techniques we used and how our brains work differently had to be my favorite part. As you can see from the picture above. (I think I’m better, lol)

We finished the night with a beautiful painting. Showing off both his skills and my own. A painting that will be hung in our house for many years to come. I love doing new things with him and keeping our marriage fun. But this doesn’t have to be just for married couples. It could also be a fun girls night out or even a fun play date with our kids. (They have kids classes too).

Over all, I loved our date night. We had a night full of fun memories and met some new friends along the way.

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:26 Psalm 73:26
