Why you need a workout partner! Chest and Triceps workout.

fitness May 9, 2016

Chest workout

If there is anything I’ve learned about working out it is this… Having a partner to workout with not only helps out with pushing yourself during workouts but also gives you some accountability to get to the gym. I’m so thankful to my husband. First, that was previously my accountability partner but most of all my sister Rae-lyn that has been my partner in crime the last two weeks.

Today was chest and triceps day and as I’m sitting here writing this post, my arms are shaking from our workout this morning. What a way to start the day. Even though the chest and triceps workout can be a lot to get through and although I’m extremely sore, and my arms are shaking, I haven’t felt this good in a while. Getting up and working out not only has given me more energy but it’s helping my day go by faster and my self-confidence rise.

As we all are well aware, working out can bring a host of benefits to both our physical as well as mental health. Better stamina, increased blood flow, reduced stress, and not to mention, it’s an easy trick that works wonders in terms of your bedroom explorations too! Strengthening the various muscles of your body can help you become stronger and more flexible, making you more energetic and ready to take on the day. I for one am glad to have started on a fitness journey. As part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, a friend suggested I keep in touch with a cardiologist in Snellville or wherever you’re based for regular checkups. In addition to exercise, having regular checkups might help prevent various heart-related disease.

Although our workouts fun, they are still workouts and are hard to get through. In the picture above I was on my last pushup and let me tell you what they were not easy. With Rae-Lyn there, we pushed each other and got through the day.

Our workout for the day:

Wide Pushups 3×12
Dumbell Bench Press 3×12
Machine Chest Press 3×12
Standing Triceps 3×12
Tricep Push Down 3×12
Cable Fly 3×12
Narrow Pushups 3×12

I don’t workout out a gym and I don’t need to do weights, but I love the girls I zumba with. It’s fun to see the same faces all the time.

Having a gym buddy is so nice. I usually workout alone, but every now again I have buddy; in-person or even virtual.

I’ve been trying to push myself to work out again. Today was going to be the day, but I woke up with a slight cold and that was another excuse again, ugh. I definitely need to shape my arms!

Working out is never fun, especially when you’re alone. I make sure that I have a fitness buddy, a friend that enjoys being fit just as much as I do. It’s more motivating that way!

I love this! Even if you do workout at home, it’s great to do it with someone by your side. Awesome post girl 🙂

Well, this sounds like an incentive enough for me to encourage my BFF to go pull off a few rounds with me, hah. But those numbers do sound feasible. I’d say it’s worth a try.

It is great to have a workout routine and a gym buddy. I workout from home but I will keep this in mind whenever I start back at the gym!

It’s wonderful you have a partner to work out with. I wish I did. I’d probably do it more regularly.

I very much agree that it is good to have a partner to workout with you as you both could motivate each other & have some fun too.. Your work out list for the day sounds very impressive & I would love to do my best as well to stay better.

Having a workout partner is a really great way to stay motivated and accountable. My husband and I have been on a fitness journey the last couple of years and have really pushed each other to reach our goals. I doubt we would have gotten as far as we have without having each other to cheer on and hold accountable.

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
