To the SISTER you are.

family, parenting May 16, 2015

Dear Sister,

I’ve been meaning to sit down and write this letter for some time now. My heart is full of joy and love for you as my SISTER even though we may not be related. Yes our husbands grew up together and technically we are sisters by marriage but you have become so much more. I know this may be a corny thing to write but I feel the need to write it all out.

Growing up with two brothers, one younger and one older, I never knew what it was like to have a sister.

We first meet on odd circumstances with me jumping into our family in a blink of an eye. We had to learn how we worked together and I had to learn your ways, your moods and your just get it done attitude. Although you’re strong headed and I more free spirited over the years those two things seemed to click and I feel as if you have been here my whole life.

I can talk to you about everything and anything and not feel judged. I can tell you things and know that it will be between us and of course our husbands. Nothing gets past those crazy men.

NO we may not agree on everything but that’s ok because I know we know we love each other. Who agrees on everything anyways right?

I know your moods and you know mine just by looking at each other.

I know your heart and you know mine. Heck I can say VAGINA and we both know the story behind the word, laugh and move on.

We pray together, love together and cry together if need be.

I have no words to express how grateful I am to have you in my life as a sister. From the back roads of a small town to a country concert and a good movie. You are there.

Thank you for being someone I can tell anything to and be myself around without a second thought about what might come out of my non existing filter.

I love you,

Erica

P.S. Vagina 🙂

What a sweet post about your sister-in-law. I have 4 sisters and 4 sister-in-laws. I'm really not close to any of my sister-in-laws just because the age factor is so different (they are all about 10 to 15 years older than me), plus we all live in different states.

I would love to be closer to even one of them. With my sister's it's sometimes harder because they know every intricate detail about me and it's seems to be constant judgement.

You are both truly blessed to have each other along with great husbands who grew up together. May you all live long and happy lives together! Cheers!

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
