Potty Training 101 with Pull-Ups® Training Pants

The time is near, The time in all our children’s life that each and every parent can not wait for. NO MORE DIAPERS. Yes that’s right one more milestone to overcome and you have reached the dream that I know my husband has been dreaming about for ages it seems. Just one small thing to over come. Potty Training. I know it’s not as easy as it sounds. I know with Nolan it took us what seemed like forever to get him trained.

Here is to starting 2015 the right way and starting what I like to call Potty Training 101 and I use
Pull-Ups® training pants to help me pass the class.

Now that Luke is almost 3 it’s about that time. I thanking God right about now that he likes the same things Nolan his older brother likes because it is making this Potty Training this a little easier. He love to run to the potty and sit. He also loves how his Pull-Ups® are “like” Nolan’s so he can pull them up and down all by himself.

What is it I do to get the ball rolling you ask. Well that would be two major items.

Pull-Ups®, a timer, some music and DumDums.

The first day I sit him down and explain to him what we will be doing. I show him his soon to be his DumDums and let him know that as soon as he goes peepee in the potty that he can have one. I also get out my JBL Charger 2 and let him know hat if he goes poo in the potty that we will do the poo dance. Yes we have a poo dance.

He shakes his head as if he understands what i’m telling him and of course cries the second I don’t give him his DumDum right away. This is when I tell him “you have to go potty on the potty to get your DumDum and take him to the bathroom.

Now  Nolan never used a training toilet so Luke doesn’t want too either.

As soon as he goes pee and i’m done jumping and screaming because i’m so happy I let him pull up his own training pants up and let him pick which DumDum he wants. Works like a charm.

I feel like using Pull-Ups® gives me a big advantage as well. Not only does the Pull-Ups® have Disney characters on the front and back, making Luke want to wear them even more, but they are a great way to mimic undies without having to clean up the accidents he WILL make while learning. I also checked out Big Kid Academy which had amazing tips as well. If potty training is something in your near future, I strongly suggest doing all the research you can. Big Kid Academy has many resources to help you out.  All you have to do is register to learn more and stay connected during the potty training process.  A cool added extra is you can download the Pull-Ups® Time to Potty app to help you keep track.

The great thing about Pull-Ups® is that they come in all sizes: 2T–3T (18- 34 lbs.); 3T–4T (32–40 lbs.) and 4T–5T (38+ lbs.); with great new designs like Doc McStuffins and Ariel for girls and Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Lightning McQueen for boys. With three different kinds of gender and size specific training pants that include: Cool Alert®, Learning Designs®, Night*Time Training Pants

I found my Pull-Ups® at Kroger if this is something you might be ready to give a try.

I used Pullups with both of my boys when they were training. I don't think I could have gotten thru the process without them.

Thanks for the great review and the giveaway. I used pull ups on all of the kids and am still using them on Abby. One of the ways I've found that helps her to wake up with a dry pull up is to make her go potty right before she goes to bed and as soon as she wakes up. She still has occasional accidents but she's been waking up dry more times than not lately. Thank goodness for pullups on the wet nights.

This post will be helpful to so many moms and dads out there. Potty training can be a night mare. It's like flying a jumbo jet by the seat of your pants with no idea where you're going!

This is great. We used pull up for all our kiddos during that early potty using stage. They were a laundry saver and we're wonderful!

Pull ups really do help with the potty training process. We used to put Cheerios in the toilet for my son to practice his aim.

I use pull ups for night times – for potty training with my boys they went bottomless! It was so easy and we had no issues at all with one and two – of course, our youngest could decide it's not for him!

Kiddo came into my life right at the stage of transitioning out of pull ups into little girl undies. We had a few mishaps along the way but nothing too stressful.

I'm not quite at this stage yet (still hoping for a child), but am definitely familiar with this line. 🙂 It's one of those classics that just gets better with time… Kudos to your son for not wanting to use a training potty, and for using the regular version successfully!

I was wondering what the basket of Dum Dums was for …right next to the Pull Ups. Duh…I did not even put the two together. It must feel amazing when a parent has overcome the obstacle of potty-training!

I trained my boys with aiming for a cheerio in the bowl to learn to hit the water… I also used an M&M for each try on the potty!

I have heard of lots of people that really loved pull ups. I skipped using pull ups and went from diapers to undies I was just so tired of spending the money.

Pullups were live savers for us when the girls where going through their potty training stage. I love how they can easily pull them up and down on their own. It made them feel so independent.

Once or twice to be expected but he did really well. Much better than my older son. Luke has yet to pee the bed at night time. Nolan, on the other hand is a much heavier sleeper and does still. sometimes.

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
