Share a Grapefruit with me from TexaSweet ~Holiday Ham with Rio Star Grapefruit Glaze Recipe~

#texasweet, food, foodie, grapefruit, ham, juice, recipe, recipes, TexasSweet, yumm November 21, 2014

I received this product for review.

I’m so excited to share with you my love for grapefruit. Now that grapefruit season is upon us I would love to share with you how I make my own homemade grapefruit juice. What I got is grapefruit from TexaSweet mailed directly to my house. Now my recipe is quite simple. All you need is a grapefruit drainer like shown in the picture above and your TexaSweet Grapefruit and two tablespoons sugar. See easy! Now the reason I have pictures of Jared doing this instead of me is for one he loves to be in the camera and two he just had to do it himself so excited to make the grapefruit juice himself. I also want to share with you another recipe that you can use grapefruit with. Now I know grapefruit is not the most common ingredient for a recipe (or atlases that’s my opinion), so I’m excited to share them with you.

I hope you all enjoy yourself some homemade grapefruit juice and have some amazing Ham as well.

I do have to say that this is some of the sweetest grapefruits I have had in a while, and it was mailed to me… That has to be the best part.
Holiday Ham with Rio Star Grapefruit Glaze
Makes 10 Servings

Ingredients
1 8-lb. ready to eat boneless ham
3 Texas Rio Star Grapefruit – 2 separate uses
1 cup dry white wine
6 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon cornstarch
••• cup water

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 325.
2. Score ham and place in roasting pan. Bake for 90 minutes. Remove from the oven.
3. Squeeze the juice from two grapefruit and combine with the wine and honey.
4. Pour grapefruit/wine/honey mixture over the ham and return it to the oven. Bake for an additional 40 minutes, basting with the sauce every 10 minutes.
5. While the ham is cooking, section the remaining grapefruit.
6. Remove the ham from the oven and transfer to a platter.
7. Put the roasting pan on the stove over low heat.
8. Combine the cornstarch with the water. Add this liquid to the juices in the roasting pan.
9. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and just boils.

10. Pour it over the ham. Garnish with the extra grapefruit sections and serve.

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
