The perfect birthday cards for kids

This year is going to be crazy busy during the Holliday’s for us. Not only am I about to have a baby but I also have a 4 year old turning 5 the week before Christmas. This is something I as a mom have been stressing about. Not wanting Nolan to feel left out because of Ryan. Not wanting the party to turn into something that is “oh look at the new baby” sort of thing. So being the cool mom that I am (wink, wink) or the cool mom I think I am. I decided to do little things here and there before Ryan arrives to make sure Nolan still feels like his birthday is special. This is where the Hallmark kids cards from Walmart come into play.
#KidsCards

Trying to make this as special as I can for my little man that seems to be growing up way to fast I decided I would let his little brother be a part of the game. Letting Luke pick out his card meant a lot to me. Not only did he pick out the right card but in letting him do this I also got to instal some “learning to give” teachings into him.

Luke was more than happy to be buying something for his big brother. He knew just the right poster card to get him. Spiderman. Nolan’s favorite thing right now and actually his Halloween costume. I’m not sure what i’m going to do when he gets older and can actually spoil a surprise.

I decided it would be more fun to wake Nolan up with this surprise right before school on a Monday to start his week of with a bang.

Nolan loved his surprise. Nolan loves Spiderman and with his brand new poster card he was jumping for joy. Literally jumping on his bed where he wanted to hang the poster. He also decided he wanted to run put on his Halloween Spiderman mask for me so he could be just like his favorite Super Hero Spiderman. Although he would wear his costume to school and every day if I let him i’m sure school would not have been to happy with him showing up as Spiderman to school.

Yes it may be a little early for his birthday party but in my mind it’s never to early for little surprise and to make my “baby” feel special no matter what day it is.

Somebody else was telling me about those cards the other day, my kids would probably love those! And I know, it's always such a struggle to make sure all your kids feel important and not focus all your attention on a new little baby. 🙂

My family has always been a "card" family and I used to spend hours in the Hallmark near my house finding the perfect card for every occasion. These days a send less cards, but it is something I am trying to change as I think with the digital world we live in, sending a handwritten card really means a lot!

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
