Do you love Holly Candy? I know I do! That’s why this year I’ve decided to recreate Holly Candy and turn it into something beautiful for Easter. Can you believe it’s already Easter?
I’m still in a little shock knowing that this next week is Easter. This year is flying by, and I’m not to sure how to handle it. By treating myself and my family, of course, seems like the right thing to do in times like this and what’s better than spending a little time in the kitchen and being creative? Every Easter, eggs seem to be the bright shiny object people tend to turn too. Don’t get me wrong; I love eggs, and I love finding new and fun ways to dye them. But, one thing about eggs is they seem to leave a funny eggs smell in my fridge that I’m not a fan of. That’s why this year I’ve decided to do something a little different and make an Easter treat that everyone can enjoy and will leave no smell in my fridge. How did I come up with this?
Well… Every Christmas (yes Christmas) my sister comes down, and she makes me something called Holly Candy. But during Christmas it is green, made with red hots and looks like a wreath. Let me just say that it is wondrous and I loved eating it. So much that I didn’t want to wait until Christmas to have it again. I decided to make my very own special Easter version.
So this is for my sister Cherry! Love you girl. And I hope I gave your Holly Candy a run for its money.
These are not only a huge hit in our house but make the perfect little treat for friends and family. They are a pleasure to look at and, even more, delightful to eat. They may be a little sticky on your fingers, but once they hit your watering mouth, you tend to forget about your messy fingers and dig in for more. I hope you all enjoy and give this Easter version of Holly Candy a try.
