I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, I LOVE the weather when it gets cold. Ok, I love the weather when it warms up as well however, I’m loving this weather. One of the main reasons is that I only like to drink hot coffee when it’s cold or cool out. It get’s so hot here in San Antonio and I would rather have iced coffee when it’s hot outside.
This past week, here in San Antonio, the temp has dropped into the 70’s. With the changing of the season comes the changing of the way I consume my caffeinated morning beverage. It’s time to pull out the crock pot, get the coffee ready and drink some unbelievably good hot drinks. Wait, did I just say crock pot? Yes. Yes I did.
I will have a couple of drinks to share with you however, this drink just so happens to be one of my favorites. Coconut Coffee Hot Chocolate made in the crock pot. There is nothing like a good hot drink on a cold night. It’s simple, wait for the children to go to bed. Put a fire in the fireplace, put in a good movie and spend some quality time with your loved one.
When it came to deciding how I wanted to make this coffee hot chocolate and whether or not it even sounded like a good idea, a few things came to mind. I have been all about coconut flavor and coconut milk. SO coconut was a must. I wanted to either try it with coconut milk (which I decided not to), coconut flakes or coconut extract. Since I couldn’t make up my mind I just had to give them both a try. You can never have enough coffee/hot chocolate right?
