January isn’t over yet and I’m already itching to start my garden. There’s just something about growing your own veggies and being able to walk outside to your very own grocery store. (I just love it)
When it comes to my garden my imagination will not stop, and my plans keep growing and growing. (I know it’s way too early still but I totally wish it wasn’t.) With my plans growing my budget also keeps growing 😬 (Sorry Huband, but it will be worth it)
So, with that being said and with us having such a larger garden this year I decided to what else…..PLAN! Doing this is not only going to make my garden ten times better but I will be more prepared come spring than if I was to wait and start in March.
So what does it look like ‘planning’ a garden.
First things first
I got this book (Kitchen Gardening) for Christmas so I started making list. I went through the book and bookmarked all the varieties of veggies and fruits that I’m interested in planting.
This is by far my favorite gardening book that I’ve had.
Then I took a plain piece of paper and started to plan. I marked off my back yard and decided where I want my garden to go. I marked off each of the spots and then planned where I wanted each variety of plant to go.
My next step will be to go through all the wood I have, plan out what I still need and go from there. We want to have a fully raised garden so it will be plenty of work. Not only that but each different plant needs different types of work done. Ugh, I’m not even sure how to write it out.
Ok that’s it for today…. I’m excited and cannot wait so I just wanted to share with you all what the plans are. I also cannot wait to show you the end result. I’ll be coming back so I can share with you the progress I’m making.
