What to blog about|Finding your NICHE

Congratulations, you have now determined your ‘WHY’. The next step will be to determine what you want to blog about. Of course, this will also depend on your ‘WHY’ but, I’ve put together a list of things you can possibly blog about.

Keep in mind that blogs with a specific niche stand out more than others.

Some questions you can ask yourself when deciding what you want to write about are.

  1. What are the things you love?
  2. What do you have tons of knowledge about?
  3. What do you love to give advice about?
  4. What do others always ask you about?

Why are you saying blogs with a niche do so much better/more profitable?

For starters, it’s 100 times easier to work with brands when you have a specific type of blog. Finding profitable niches with low competition can also be a viable option for budding bloggers. Now, take a beauty blog for example. If you are constantly writing about beauty when you reach out to your favorite brand. That brand will head over to your blog to see if you’re a good fit.

If you are constantly writing about beauty, that brand will want to work with you over someone who only writes about beauty every so often. You will fit with their brand and in return, they will want to work with you.

What that brand will see is that you already have an audience that comes to you about beauty products. Therefore your market is a perfect match for their brand.

This goes for all different types of niches.

With that being said, it is totally fine if you do want to write a lifestyle blog. It just means you will have to work a little harder when it comes to working with brands.

Here is a list of different types of blogs you can choose from.

  • Cooking
  • Parenting
  • Fashion
  • Beauty
  • Traveling
  • Fitness
  • Books
  • Country Living
  • Dogs/Cats/Animals
  • Homesteading
  • You can find more ideas here.

One more step!

Take your blog topic and make it even more specific. Say you want to blog about Parenting. What about parenting? Maybe you love to talk about breastfeeding, for example. Create a breastfeeding momblog.

Or maybe you like Dogs. But you have a Great Dane. Create a Great Dane Dog Blog.

I believe you’ve got it from here. I can keep going but I think I’ve made my point. Just remember to be you. Remember to blog about something that you love and can talk about for days on end.

I have always wanted to blog I even purchased a book called blogging for dummies Lol! I have kept a journal since I was a little girl and enjoy adding a page or two a day about my life and the things that goes on. I’m definitely a realist. Why am I starting a blog? like I said I have always kept a journal I love to write, even short stories and quotes. I send my kids a daily quote that either I have wrote or gotten off of pinterest to help them get there day started. I’m a mom first and I love that job. I have a son who is 24 and three teenage girls with one being a special needs teenager and that in it self can be challenging. I love being a mother it has been the most rewarding job any women could have. I didn’t get a handbook showing me the do’s and don’ts it was all by trial and error. I just prayed along the way and with each challenge I took it as a lesson. I love inspirational books. One of the books i’m reading right now is The 5 love languages of Teenagers. Working out, doing home projects and cooking is just a few of many passions. I feel like being a blogger would help me to do something I love which is writing, reaching people and making money. I am doing a lot of researching on blogging because I want to have a successful blog and I want people to love and look forward to reading my blog. Thank you for your expertise.

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:26 Psalm 73:26
