The beach can be a very difficult place for a lot of women. Some people have no trouble going there and feeling great about themselves. Others get really self-conscious and don’t feel comfortable when they’re there. It can be hard to enjoy yourself when you’re feeling this way, which is a shame as beaches should be a place of fun and happiness.
It’s especially sad when you pay to go on a lovely holiday and just don’t feel comfortable going to the beach. It can cause you to miss out on so many activities, which makes you feel like you’ve wasted money.
If you fall into the category of people that don’t feel comfortable at the beach, then this is the article for you. I’ve got some simple tips you can follow that will make you feel beautiful and happy with what you’re wearing.
Wear What Makes You Feel Comfortable
It’s hard to feel beautiful when you’re not comfortable with what you’re wearing. There are loads of women that just don’t like wearing bikinis or swimsuits at the beach. They might have body confidence issues, or they just don’t like the feeling of walking around in a bikini. Remember, there are no rules saying you have to wear a bikini at the beach. Don’t wear one if you don’t want to, put something on that makes you feel comfortable. Instead of a swimsuit, you can find loads of great sundresses that are cool and breezy. These are perfect for the beach as they’re light, make you feel cool, and can make you feel more comfortable as you’re not showing as much skin. Of course, if you are comfortable with your body and like wearing a bikini, then go for it. Some people feel more comfortable in different styles of bikini/swimsuit, the point is that you wear something that you’re comfortable in. With comfort comes the feeling of being beautiful.
Bring A Pair Of Sunglasses
I always find that sunglasses go a long way to making me feel more beautiful. There’s just something about them that makes you look better whenever you catch a glimpse of yourself. Plus, they kind of make you look a little bit inconspicuous. It’s harder for someone to tell if it’s you when you’ve got some shades on. As such, you don’t feel as on edge thinking there might be people you know at the beach. This is something that makes lots of people feel uncomfortable and ugly. They worry about other people they know seeing them and thinking they look bad. The chances of this happening are slim, but it’s still something that plays on your mind. By wearing sunglasses, you look a lot cooler, feel a lot better, and can sunbathe safely in the knowledge that your face is slightly hidden away from any onlookers.
Eating healthy & going to the gym
If you’re like me, then you’ll feel bloated after pretty much every meal. No matter what you eat, it makes you feel like a whale. So, if we feel bloated at the beach, it just adds to our confidence issues. Eat light meals and try to consume things that don’t make you bloated. This will make you feel a lot better as you feel less bloated and just slimmer in general. Of course, you could go on a proper diet, join a gym, and exercise months in advance of your holiday, but a lot of us don’t have time for that. So, this short-term fix might not do much to your appearance, but it will play a mental trick on you that makes you feel a lot slimmer and less inflated.
Listen, we can’t all be 6ft tall, slim supermodels with the perfect beach body. A lot of us don’t feel confident when we go to the beach, and that’s perfectly normal. But, this doesn’t mean we should miss out on great experiences and fun in the sun. It’s all about addressing the issues that make you feel uncomfortable at the beach. If you don’t like wearing a bikini, don’t wear one! Put something else on that makes you feel better about yourself and less self-conscious. Similarly, if you’re worried about other people recognizing you, make it harder to see who you are with sunglasses. Finally, if you always feel bloated at the beach, go on a quick diet and have a mini fast beforehand to prevent these feelings.
By following these tips, you will start to feel beautiful at the beach and enjoy the sun, sea, and good times!
