Remember that one time Ryan pooped in the bath… Yeah, I do!

parenting July 29, 2016

Poop.

Can I just start there? It all started with this beautiful little lady right here and the day I decided I was ready for the potty training to begin.

The night was almost over, and all I had to do was give the kids a bath, and I was home free. I filled the bath up for Ryan sat her down with a toy or two and let her play around in the water for awhile. I washed her hair, body and finished up by rinsing her. I turned the corner to pick up a towel (never left the room) went to pick her up and realized she was playing with something.

POOP!

“Jared!!!!!”  And of course he comes running in like something terrible has happened.  The overly concerned look on his face immediately made me think about the reaction I just had.  I still feel bad for overreacting a bit. His concerned look turned into anger because it was like I was crying “Wolf!!!”  I pointed at the bathtub, and we both had a good laugh after he realized what was happening.  I didn’t know what to do.  It was like all my motherly instincts left me.  I was just frozen. How is it that my only girl and last child was the first one to poop in the bath. And not only did she poop, but she was also playing with it!

That moment. That single moment, I decided we were ready. Ready for it all to begin and end. Off to Walmart Neighborhood Market I went, I picked up more Pull-Ups, Huggies All Natural wipes, and we were set.

As I’ve mentioned before, she likes to think that everything is her choice. She won’t let me feed her much less make this decision for her. So I let her pick out the diapers and wipes. She enjoyed it more than I expected her too.

It’s so awesome how shopping at Walmart Naborhood Market for baby and childcare products has no effect on my wallet due to no price difference from a Walmart Suppercenter.

She even posed for me! She will run to the toilet and try to go potty. She’s not there yet, but that’s why I’m so thankful for Pull-Ups. Getting her ready and prepared is the best. That way when we are ready to go without, she will be fully trained even when it comes to pulling up and down her undies.

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:26 Psalm 73:26
