Did someone say ice cream?? Heck yes! That’s right I said ice cream and I’m on a diet… If you can call it that. I think it’s important to keep a couple of things you love in your so called “diet” and for me, it’s ice cream.
Disclaimer*** I hate saying diet, it’s more of a lifestyle than a diet. But let’s just stick to diet for the sake of this post.
When you’re on a diet, it’s important to have what most people call treat days or treat meals.
For me, that would have to be DREYER’S Ice Cream specifically. DREYER’S Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream to be exact. Wait, wait, wait…. You are probably thinking to yourself that autocorrect changed a couple of things. Nope. You read that correctly. It says TREAT DAY. I hate calling it a “cheat” day. Cheating can come across in a negative tone. We don’t like it when an athlete cheats or your child may have got caught cheating on a test. Can you see how negative that can come across?
You see my husband eats a bowl of ice cream almost every night so when it’s my “treat” day I like to browse his many different options to treat myself to. It is all about having a positive mindset as we all go through life. But since I know I’m going to let loose on some ice cream I like to prepare a few salads for lunch a dinner to help my mind process all the ice cream I’m about to consume.
Why I pick DREYER’S Ice Cream above all others? First and foremost you can’t beat the variety of flavors. I love that I can simply pick up all my ice cream and ingredients at my local Walmart and that DREYER’S is made with fresh milk & cream with no rBST (milk production hormone). With no artificial colors or flavors, DREYER’s leaves me satisfied with my favorite candies and creaminess to make my treat day all the better.
I’ve created two different pre-made salads in a jar to share with you! One is more fruity and the other is my take on a southern style salad.
First is the fruit salad. Ingredients you will need! A jar, Rasberry dressing, blueberries, red onion, orange bell peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, and butter lettuce.
In just that order you will want to start with you dressing first. Follow the pictures and add each ingredient on top of the other in this order. Rasberry dressing, blueberries, red onion, orange bell peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, and butter lettuce. If you add the dressing last it will make everything soggy.
As for the southwest salad, you will need. Ranch, red onion, black beans, cucumbers, blackened corn, red cherry tomatoes and romaine lettuce.

Now that you’ve made your salad it’s time to dig into your DREYER’S Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream.
What are your favorite flavors or candies? I’d love to hear your tread day stories.
