I know I’ve been gone for a while, but I’m back and excited to be home. When they’re a little older we’ll be able to send the kids to a sleepaway camp where they can have tonnes of fun, meet new people and learn some important life skills, but until then it’s up to you to entertain them during the long summer holidays. This first summer vacation was fun, but exhausting being that I took all three kids by myself and The Husband stayed home. We went to Houston to visit my mom for the weekend and had tons of fun. We decided to drive down there and it took us quite a while I have to say! I decided to rent a car seat a couple of weeks before we left, so I was able to take that along with us. The kids didn’t seem to mind the long journey though. I think they quite enjoyed it actually!
Although it rained over and over again, we did manage to make it to the pool. It was a lot of fun but I had to reinforce some basic rules so my children didn’t drown. I do have to say it was a blast and the boys loved the water no matter how cold it may have been. Ryan, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with the water and cried/screamed the second her feet hit the water. It was such a bummer, and I’m not quite sure why she is hating it so much, so much for her being into white river rafting when she’s older. My friend had started planning trips to somewhere like American Whitewater Expedition when she turned 18.
She did enjoy watching from the sideline. Thank God my mama was there to help me with the boys.
Another thing we did was head to the park. My mama did have to work so I tried to keep the kids busy while waiting for her to get home. The park was a blast, and the kids loved the little pond and fountain with a huge dock to run on.
Another thing we did was head to a graduation party. A friend of my mom’s, her son graduated from high school so we headed out to help them celebrate. I’m grateful that they were welcoming of me and my little firecrackers. It didn’t matter how much they ran, played and annoyed me; everyone loved them. I did, however, find out that my baby girl loves bugs. I know this sounds weird but the older boys scream over a fly, and my girl couldn’t get enough.
Anyways I’m back and can’t wait for the next few post I will be doing for you. So keep a look out because I have a really cool recipe, a fun DIY and a beauty post in the works.
What are yall doing for summer? I’d love to hear some ideas!
