I love the excitement of watching them wake up in the morning, and they know that later on they will have all of their friends and family around to help celebrate another year of life. I want every little detail to be perfect and everything to run smoothly. But being such a busy mom, I feel like I always seem to fall short of what I’m wanting. The hustle of everyday life can easily get you distracted and next thing you know, some of the ideas you had just won’t come to fruition. You can’t help but feel a little disappointed in yourself because you want to give so much to this child who has brought such a vast array of emotions into your life in the so little amount of time they have been on this planet.
One of the obstacles I have come across while hosting a birthday party for one of my children is trying my hardest to make everyone happy. More importantly, the young ones. At the age of four or five-years-old, kids already pretty much know what they like and dislike regarding sweets. Some children love vanilla ice cream while others would much rather have chocolate or strawberry. And it is not ideal to go out and purchase a carton or tub of each flavor of ice cream that the grocery stores offer. Nobody in their right mind would want to give a half gallon of ice cream to each child. The repercussions of that decision will ultimately affect who shows up next year for your child’s birthday. If only there were a way to listen to the conversations of parents as they are leaving the party might I consider doing something like that for the pure joy of what possibly could come out of their mouths. But, I am a beautiful person and think of my friends sanity. What I am saying is, I wouldn’t want my kids to eat a ton of ice cream so I won’t be sugaring up their little ones as well.
I have found the absolute perfect way to make sure everyone is going to get what they want and a way to not overload the children on a sugar panicked hysteria.
