A Holiday Pancake Breakfast

Christmas is in the air, just take a look around! People are going crazy at the stores. Gifts, gifts and more gifts. My husband will be the first to tell you that like most of those crazy people at the stores I too love to give gifts. I love watching people unwrap the gift I got them just to see the smile on their faces. Heck, just the other day I got mad at my husband for wanting to know what it was I was getting him to make sure he liked it. I get it, I truly do, he wanted to know before I spent the money on him. But to me, that takes away the excitement of wrapping a gift and having your loved ones open it.
While gifts are a fun part of Christmas there are many other things to get excited about.

Not everyone has the money for tons of gifts. That’s why there are many other things you can do to celebrate the holidays. Take your children to see Christmas lights, put up your tree as a family, and one of my favorites is to bake. This year I wanted to do a little something extra to have fun with The Husband, something that can turn into one of those magical moments. A holiday pancake breakfast made with Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Holiday Cake Mix and M&M’s® Hot Chocolate. YUM.
Now before I get start sharing this wonderful recipe, I want to make it clear before the messages start pouring in, that yes I know that gifts, lights, and baking are not what Christmas is all about and not the true meaning of Christmas. However, giving gifts, receiving gifts and baking goods are something that we all look forward too.
Ingredients: You can find everything you need for this recipe at your local Walmart!

1 Box of Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Cake Mix
3 Eggs
1 1/3 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
2 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 1/3 cups of milk
1/3 cups of canola oil
M&M’s® Hot Chocolate
Whip Cream
Strawberries
Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Holiday Vanilla Flavored Frosting

Directions:
First you will want to dump your box of Pillsbury™ Funfetti®  Cake Mix into a large bowl, combine with your, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another smaller bowl mix your eggs, milk and oil. Slowly mix your wet ingredients with your dry ingredients.
Make sure you have a small bowl set aside for you to snack on your  M&M’s® just to get into the holiday spirit!

The batter is a little thicker than usual but if you like it thinner like I do then you will want to add a little more milk.

Once your batter is mixed well and you have cooked your pancakes, you’re ready to decorate and eat. This time I decided to make a Santa. I really wanted to make a Christmas tree as well but I forgot to pick up a bottle to pour my batter into the shape of a tree.

My Santa M&M’s® Pancakes were a huge hit and my husband loved eating and sharing in this new magical tradition we have started.  M&M’s® are a perfect way to decorate any dessert.  Where else can you find something so versatile and delicious? What are your family traditions that turn the holidays into a magical time of year?

Don’t forget to check out the Great American Milk Drive where you can make a small donation to pourmilklove.com help children and families get the essential nutrients that milk can supply. Milk is naturally-nutrient-rich. It has 9 essential nutrients, including 8 grams of high-quality protein per serving and is the top food source of three of the nutrients most likely to be missing in the American diet – calcium, vitamin D and potassium.

Also don’t forget to vote for you favorite recipe and enter to win one of eight KitchenAid® mixers!

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:26 Psalm 73:26
