San Antonio Howl-O-Scream

This past weekend, a girlfriend and I decided we wanted to enjoy a fun girls night out and jump over to SeaWorld San Antonio for their Howl-O-Scream event going on. And thanks to being a Wildside Blogger 2015 I had the privilege of going.

If you had an eye on the weather this past weekend, you know Hurricane Patricia hit Mexico and being that Texas is right above, we received a good amount of rain that decided to hit San Antonio right about the time Jerry and I got to Sea World. We faced the rain with smiles on our faces because our girls night out was NOT going to disrupted by some other woman named Patricia.

The first thing we did when we got there was take a ride on the Steel Eel. I had not been on a “grown up” roller coster in I cannot tell you how long. I was excited. Jerry was excited. That was until we were strapped in and slowly making our way to the top towards the first drop when Jerry realized what was about to happen. I could not stop laughing. It was so much fun as you can see from the picture below.

Let’s just say that we both loved it. I might have loved it just a tad more but we both had a blast and created a picture that will last a lifetime.

After riding the Steel Eel, we walked into Howl-O-Scream. It was incredible. Entertainers were setting the stage for the attractions ahead. Halloween makeup and costumes galore. I do have to say that this area of the park is not the best (in my opinion) for children under the age of 12. Maybe even older. Jerry got scared more than once, and I just couldn’t contain myself from watching her. She is an individual who does not like being scared. And for some reason, I find joy when others are losing their cool so to speak. We found our way to collect our Fear Pass. We didn’t want to wait in lines and plus we got VIP seats to the Shamu show. A must see!

There are four different Fear Passes that you can get. We, of course, got the Ultimate passes so that we could get VIP seating to the night shows as well as go through all the haunted houses as many times as our hearts could take.

There are five different haunted houses, that is if you can take all five of them. The newest attraction is Unearthed Scarlett’s Revenge, ICU: Intensive Cursed Unit, Prey: Where the Hunter Becomes the Hunted, Frightmare Forest and SOS: Clowns in Control. As we made our way through each of the haunted houses we were more and more impressed. I do have to say that the newest attraction Unearthed had to be my favorite. From the scares and creepy clowns, we were ready for a little sit down show. Shamu here we come!

Next we headed to the late night Shamu show, and I had to say this…. It was the best Shamu production that I have ever seen. By far my favorite. The lights, music and all around presentation was phoenominal. I want to take the kids back just for that show.
