I’ve never been too fond of Halloween. All the scary creatures, people scaring other people and since becoming a mom taking my kids trick or treating has not been one of my biggest priorities. However. ever since Ryan was born (last year) I’ve been extremely excited because not only will it be Halloween, but it will be her birthday as well. Making Halloween that much more fun. Getting to dress up my boys and now my princess, putting up decorations and all the fun little things that I’ve never been to excited about.
As I was walking through Babies “R” Us, checking out all the fun little things they have out for Halloween it came to my attention how Ryan loves to put everything in her mouth. I had to think of a fun way that she can hand out something instead of candy. My first thought came to me when I was picking up her Huggies Little Movers in the baby isle. She could hand out diapers for all the other babies out there trick-or-treating. What child under the age of one can eat candy? Not any that I know. SO we decided to have a little fun and hand out Huggies Little Moviers to all the little ones.  I know as a mom of three, sometimes when I’m out and about I either forget my diaper bag. Feel like I won’t need it because “I won’t be gone that long,” or just forget it in the car and end up needing a diaper due to unexpected accidents.
That’s why a fun Huggies treat for your little ones that can’t eat candy would be the perfect gift for her to help hand out. With a leak lock of up to 12 hours and the driest feeling diaper ever you’re sure to have one happy baby all night long while out and about trick or treating.
But let’s not forget the other kids. My boys are just as psyched about Halloween as I am, but not because it’s Ryan’s birthday but because they get to decorate, dress up and eat tons of candy. Since I was held up in the hospital after giving birth to Ryan last year and missed out on all the fun, I decided that I wanted to go all out this year and even decorate. I decided that I wanted to show you how I’m making my Halloween wreath that we will be putting on our front door right next to Ryan’s treats for her munchkins.
First things first. You will need a wire hanger, pop sickle sticks, burlap and white mesh for your ghost. What I did first was to take my burlap that I had from a previous project and cut it in half. You can do this as well, but you can also buy burlap that is already the size you want.

The next thing I did was take my wire hanger, yes I’m using things that were already found in my house. (Why not?) Take your wire hanger and bend it into a circle. This part had to be the hardest part, so I took some of my husband’s pliers to help bend the ends.

After bending your wire hanger into the shape you desire, take your burlap and mesh, turn in a rotating circle while pulling the wire hanger through until fully covered. I was not trying to make this beautiful but more sloppy for a “Halloween” look.
Hook the end of your wire hanger at the end so your burlap and mesh doesn’t fall off.
Before I added my ghost, I rolled up a diaper, stuck a pop sickle stick out the top and attached it to the wreath. Why do you ask?  I wanted my ghost to have something cling on too and make fat. With the mesh, I had bought it would have been simple for the ghost to fall flat and not look as spooky. After attaching my diaper to the wreath, I took my mesh, unfolded it, took a small rubber band and tied the head of my ghost to the top of the pop sickle stick. Ta-da you now have a fun, easy wreath that you can make out of household items.

I am not only now extremely excited about Halloween, but I can’t wait to get more from Babies “R” Us. I always buy Ryan’s Huggies Little Movers from there and wouldn’t change it for the world. Her Huggies not only keeps her nice and dry but I never have any leaking. I wonder what else I’ll think of on my next visit. So many ideas when it comes to Halloween, all you have to do is walk up and down the aisles and everything jumps out at you.

I can’t wait to hear what ideas you come up with after your visit to Babies “R” Us. Don’t forget to head back here and leave me your links to your fun Halloween decor.

What a neat themed wreath. I like the idea of handing out diapers instead of candy. [client]

Living Life one day at a time

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 Joshua 24:15

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 Colossians 3:23-24

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:26 Psalm 73:26
