Being a mom is one of the greatest feelings in the world. There is nothing more in this world that brings me joy and happiness than to see the smiles on my children’s faces. Motherhood is almost like a sorority of sorts compiled of women who understand the positive change in our lives. Childbearing, on the other hand, can sometimes have the opposite effect but more on a physical level.
Issues arise that no book or doctor can warn you about. Some that can affect your self-esteem. Issues that more than half of women/mothers are scared or embarrassed about. SUI (Sudden Urinary Inconsistency.) But today I’m speaking out. I’m no longer scared or embarrassed to share my story with you so that even if you, the awesome woman that you are, can too no longer feel uncomfortable in your own skin. You can laugh when you want, workout when you want and heck even be sick and cough when the time comes without having to leak.
First let me explain what SUI is. Now don’t get me wrong SUI can come at many different times. Most leaking occurs when you laugh, sneeze, exercise and cough.
I have lived with SUI since my first son was born in 2009, and for some reason, it has only gotten worse with every baby. Having to wear panty liners just in case I decided to laugh has become irritating. I mean really? What was meant for my menstrual cycle, I now have to wear it during most times. Who knows when you’re going to laugh or sneeze or have a coughing attack? Should these reasons be justified for having to wear one? This is why I have started using Poise Impressa from CVS.
Not to long ago I was on the CVS website and came across Poise Impressa sizing kit. Poise looks much like a tampon but works nothing like one. Poise is meant to help prevent SUI symptoms with a soft, flexible, internal device with a non-absorbant outer cover Poise Impressa works wonders when helping with your SUI symptoms that you can wear for up to 8 hours. Poise Impressa also allows you to go to the bathroom normally without having to remove it, but first you will need to use the size kit so that you know what size fits you best. After figuring out which size fits you best you can move to the packs of 10.
