Being pregnant has been one of the greatest joys in my life. Although each pregnancy was different and challenging in their ways, I’m still one of those women who loved being pregnant. Being able to feel the baby move inside of you. Watching your body change in ways you never thought possible. Buying new baby clothes. Rubbing your baby and knowing how much you already love that little peanut inside of you although you have yet to meet them. And as your pregnancy goes on and on you start to decorate. Deciding what you want the room to look like, picking the perfect bedding and then finally getting your bags set to go.
The bedding came with a quilt, crib sheet, and crib skirt. The crib sheet had to be my favorite. Almost to a point of wanting to keep it for myself. But on to the even better part. The DIY Mickey ears that I made to go along with this awesome bedding. I wanted to make something that could be simple and fun for older siblings to be able to help. I know when I was pregnant with Ryan both the boys wanted to help me do everything, and it was important to make them feel special and a part of the new baby as well.
First you will need a piece of cardboard, scissors, a coffee mug or circle to use for ears, and paint. I used black for obvious reasons but hey who said Mickey couldn’t have different colored ears. First you want to trace your circles. Make sure they are spaced apart about 2 to 3 inches. Paint in your Mickey ears in and let dry. I let mine dry overnight. Also if you notice I left an extra 2 inches at the bottom of the Mickey giving me space to place it.
