Let me start today by saying how long it has been since I have dyed my hair. Over 3 long years. If you remember not to long ago I shared with you how I cut over 13 inches off my hair. I grew it out with no cut or dye for over 2 years and one day decided “heck why not cut off all my hair” so that is just what I did. Check out the before and after pictures here.
Just yesterday I decided that I wanted to do something dramatic to my hair again. I wanted to go red. Ok this color was dark auburn but hey it looks red to me right? I wanted my hair that color on the box. Well it didn’t turn out quite like I wanted. A little too dark so I might just do it again but I wanted to take you on this new journey of mine.
My mom use to dye my hair all the time so seeing everything that was in the box was nothing new. You mix the white and brown bottle together, shake and your ready to go. Well after you put on your gloves.
The gloves was something I was not expecting. I remember thinking and remembering how flimsy the gloves inside these take home hair color were and how I wish I had some better ones. To my surprise they have upgraded to what I have on in the picture above. Not bad and the dye just slides right off the glove not making it all sticky and jazz.

My first reaction. Ummm not what I wanted and too dark.
How i’m feeling today. Ok I can live with this but I think i’m going to try again next week.
So until next week I will live with this color and maybe just maybe it will grow on me.

I get my hair highlighted at the salon. I get multi colors and I love how it comes out.

I think it looks great! I usually don't dye my own hair because I am too scared I might mess up but I do have a box waiting to cover up any grays.

I saw your 'after' pic online, but didn't see the 'before' – that was a substantial chop. You look great either way. I have never colored my hair – I'd be curious to see what I would look like…but Im too scary!
