So I’m in charge of decorations at my Sister-n-laws baby shower so I decided one thing I would do was make wood block pictures! And this is how I did it!
DIY Wood Pictures
Things you will need!
Blocks of wood (duh)
Liquitex – Gel medium (I used Matte Gel)
Mod Podge
Picture you want to use on paper (printed by a laser printer)
Your finger
1. Take you blocks of wood, I cut mine into pieces of 6 by 4
2.Take your Gel Medium
With brush paint over top of wood.
3.Take your paper picture
and smoothly place it on top of Gel Medium.
4.Let dry over night
5. take bowl of water and wash rage
and gently smooth over top of picture.
6.Take your finger and rub off the paper.
7.After all paper is rubbed off Take your Mod Podge
and paint over the top of wood.
8. Let dry and you are done!
Remember the paper picture has to be from a laser printer! Have fun I know I did…
Wow! What an idea! I especially love the ones with teh x ray. So original!
SO like just a picture that was developed at a pharmacy or something? I'm don't understand the the laser printer part.
No it has to be on paper, no ink like if you were to get if from a copy machine. No ink printer a laser printer.
What is the "wash rage" -just water that you get the paper wet and then in your 'rage' you get it all to rub off?? Thanks! We are going to do this tonight at Young Women church group!
Yes, I just used it to get the paper wet! Make sure it is dry before tho… Please let me know how it turns out tonight 🙂
Erica
